Minimum total surface — approx. 30′ × 60′

The smallest total concrete pad that gives players safe out-of-bounds room on all sides.

03

Preferred total surface — approx. 34′ × 64′

Recommended where space allows. Provides comfortable play margins and room for spectators or benches.

Why 865 Titan Concrete

Local concrete work, owned and operated

We're a Knoxville-area company. Ben Norris is on every project — not a franchise, not a call center.

Local & Owner-Operated

Ben Norris owns and operates 865 Titan Concrete. You deal directly with the person doing the work — not a dispatcher or franchise rep.

Preliminary Estimates From Photos

Send dimensions, photos, or plans and we can often give you a preliminary range before scheduling a site visit. No runaround.

Clear Communication

You'll know what's scheduled, what's happening, and what to expect. If the schedule changes, you'll hear it from us — not find out when no one shows up.

One Coordinated Scope

Site prep, grading, drainage, and concrete are handled together — not handed off between subcontractors. One point of contact, start to cleanup.

Structural Concrete Experience

Sport courts require proper base prep, drainage slope, reinforcement, and control joints — not just a flat pour. We understand the structural requirements.

Promises Made. Promises Kept.

We show up when we say we will, do what we agreed to do, and clean up when we leave. That's the standard every project is held to.

Common Questions

Good to know before you start

How much space is needed for a pickleball court?
The official playing lines are 20′ × 44′. However, you need additional buffer around the lines for safe play — a total concrete pad of approximately 30′ × 60′ is a common minimum, and 34′ × 64′ is preferred when space allows. If your yard is smaller or has an unusual shape, send us photos or dimensions and we'll assess what's possible before any site visit.
Can a court be built on a sloped property?
Yes, but slope has to be addressed before concrete goes down. We grade and prepare the site so the finished surface is level and drains properly. The amount of cut-and-fill required depends on how much slope exists — that's one of the things we evaluate during the site review and factor into the estimate.
How thick should the concrete be?
A typical sport court pad is poured at 4 inches thick with proper reinforcement. Where soil conditions, frost depth, or heavy-use applications call for it, a thicker or more heavily reinforced section may be recommended. We assess this site-by-site.
What reinforcement is used?
We use rebar or welded wire mesh depending on site conditions and project scope. Reinforcement is embedded in the concrete pad to resist cracking from ground movement, temperature changes, and use over time. We'll specify what's appropriate for your site in the estimate.
How is drainage handled?
The court is finished with a slight slope (typically 1% or about 1″ per 8 feet) to shed water off the playing surface. Where necessary, we incorporate drainage channels, French drains, or other site drainage solutions to keep water from collecting around or under the pad.
How long must the concrete cure before it can be used?
You can walk on concrete within a day or two, but sport coating shouldn't be applied until the slab has cured — typically 28 days for a full cure, though timing depends on temperature and conditions. We'll communicate the exact timeline based on the pour date and conditions at your site.
What's the difference between a concrete pad and a complete court?
A concrete pad is the foundation — the graded, reinforced, finished slab. A complete court adds the acrylic sport coating on top, which provides the playing surface color, texture, and grip, plus the regulation court lines and net-post coordination. Both start with the same quality concrete pad; the surface layer is what turns a slab into a finished playing court.
Can fencing and lighting be added?
Yes. We coordinate with trade partners for perimeter fencing (chain-link, vinyl, or custom options) and court lighting (poles, fixtures, and electrical). These are handled as separate scopes — we'll help connect you with the right people and sequence the work properly around the concrete schedule.
Do you build courts for HOAs and communities?
Yes. We work with HOA boards, property managers, and communities on multi-court pours. Larger projects involve additional site planning, drainage engineering, and sequenced scheduling — we discuss all of that upfront before any work begins.
What information helps you provide a faster, more accurate estimate?
The most useful things: the project address, approximate available dimensions (even a rough measurement helps), whether you want pad-only or a finished court with acrylic surface, any photos of the site, and your general timeline. Text photos directly to (865) 209-7235 or fill out the form below.
